NowUs Annual Retreat 2025: A Transformative Journey of Empowerment

From August 29–31, the NowUs Foundation hosted our Annual Women Entrepreneurs Empowerment Retreat at the beautiful Mary & Joseph Retreat Center in the Palos Verdes Peninsula. For three days, 14 incredible women gathered on sacred grounds surrounded by breathtaking views, lush gardens, and the gentle presence of nature — with birds greeting us each morning, rabbits skipping across the fields, and even majestic peacocks watching over us.

This retreat was made possible thanks to the visionary leadership of our board member and founder of Eclipse, Eugenia Quezada, who guided and facilitated the experience with wisdom, compassion, and powerful intention.

Day 1: Arrival and Immersion

We began our retreat with a warm kick-off ceremony, enjoying refreshments and connecting with our inspiring Board of Directors. A powerful opening dynamic helped participants introduce themselves in deeper, more meaningful ways, setting the tone for authentic connection.

As the sun began to set, we gathered in the retreat’s cozy lounge for a handpan meditation session — a gentle practice to calm our nervous systems and help us fully arrive in the space. What followed was a day of intense, raw, and transformative sessions that challenged us to reflect deeply and open ourselves to growth.

Day 2: Connection, Release, and Celebration

Our second day began in the gardens, where intentional conversations and guided sessions inspired breakthroughs and strengthened our bonds. Over delicious meals prepared with love by the retreat center staff, we laughed, cried, and shared stories that reminded us of our collective resilience and purpose.

The highlight of the day came as a surprise from our dear sister Teonna, who blessed us with her voice in an impromptu performance. Soon, everyone was singing, dancing, and embracing in a powerful group hug — a moment that sealed our sisterhood and will live in our hearts forever.

Day 3: Closing and Integration

On our final day, we gathered for a heartfelt closing ceremony, preparing ourselves to reintegrate into our daily lives with clarity, strength, and renewed purpose. After a shared breakfast, photos, and countless hugs, we were guided once again into stillness through a moving handpan session led by Omar Anguiano, who generously volunteered his talent to honor our closing moments together.

A Lasting Impact

The 2025 retreat was more than just three days away from the world — it was a life-changing journey of empowerment, connection, and transformation. Each woman left with a deeper sense of self, a stronger bond with her sisters, and a renewed commitment to her entrepreneurial journey.

At NowUs, we believe in creating spaces where women are not only supported but seen, heard, and celebrated. This retreat reminded us of the power that emerges when women come together with open hearts and bold visions.

We are deeply grateful to our board, our facilitators, and most importantly, the women who said yes to this experience. The seeds planted in Palos Verdes will continue to grow, shaping futures, businesses, and communities for years to come.
